some of the best keyword tools are google adwords keyword, seomoz keyword tool, wordtracker free keyword tool, keyword discovery.

Always remember, there will be a conflict between each of these keyword tool results for same keywords.

Along with these keyword tools, your brain is also going to help you in brainstorming some of them..

Yes if you want the search engines to find you, there must be some sort of clue as to what you are about.
It's like so what, you have a web site. There are millions of web sites. The thing that allows people and robots to find you is what category you're in. To be more explicit, since you're in a category, the people or robot would expect another identifying word. That's why you need to be as concise as possible in labeling your site by using unique keywords.
Some times it's difficult when everyone and their momma is doing the same thing. That's where the game begins.

Yes it works great with Yahoo, but what about Google. Are you finding that Google doesn't care and prioritizes high traffic sites like Digg, Squigoo, YouTube etc.?

Researching for keywords is the first and important step to take. Without it, marketers will have a hard time assessing their status and will have no basis for estimates.

There are plenty of free tools out there that can help you to do keyword research.
